Keep the scan with the research it explains
A file is easier to understand when you can see who it concerns and where it came from. Store your media with captions and links to the records that give it meaning.
One file, several useful connections
Upload a photograph, scan, PDF, audio recording or video, describe it with the available media fields, and connect it to people, families, places or evidence. Preview supported files and download originals from their records.
Choose a person’s portrait from their media. Use the unlinked-file view to find material that still needs filing, and restore missing imported files against the references already in the project.

An archive you can keep organized
- More than photographs
- Supported media includes images, PDFs, audio and video. Accepted file types and upload limits are shown in the app.
- Describe and connect
- Keep captions, dates and media types with each file, then link it to the records it explains.
- Portraits and unlinked files
- Choose portraits for people and review files that have not yet been connected to research records.
- Restore missing imported media
- Attach the missing file to its imported reference so its existing research links can be retained. Review link impact before deleting media.
What this does not do
Storage depends on the owner’s plan
The storage allowance is shared across projects you own: Free includes 250 MB, Pro 5 GB, Max 25 GB and Ultra 100 GB. An imported media reference does not contain the file itself; missing originals still need to be supplied. Compare current upload and storage limits on the pricing page.
